Too Much Genealogy?

I once was told by a man that I knew that he hoped he never did as much genealogy as I did.  This coming from the mouth of someone who called himself a genealogist?  Anyway, I've often wondered, do I in fact spend too much time on genealogy?  Is it possible to spend too much time on genealogy research?

So after pondering for a bit I sat down and came up with the following list...

  1. House is clean
  2. Laundry is done
  3. Floors are done
  4. beds are made
  5. groceries are bought & in pantry
  6. Dog is walked
  7. dinner is in the crockpot
  8. can't do lawn, its snowcovered
I could go on, but what's a girl to do?  What do you think?  Is it possible to do TOO MUCH genealogy?

Happy Researching!

Even if your list wasn't done, I don't think it's possible to do "too much" genealogy.

With the list done, you are ahead of me.

Well, my family thinks I am obsessed with genealogy...but whenever my nieces and nephews have to do a family history project, their parents are glad to have someone in the family to call on :)

If genealogy research is what you want to do then that's what you should do. does your family complain? is it 'eating' in to time with them? If the answers are no to these questions then I say 'go for it girl'.

Hey - house could use a once over, towels in the dryer, we're out of milk...I'm still doin' genealogy. To answer your question - absolutely not!!! :-)

Um, my "chores" are NOT all complete & here I sit reading genealogy blogs... ;-) NEVER too much genealogy (& I'll even add history in general, as I love it too)!

I agree with Travis. If all the things you need to get done are done and your husband is not being neglected, then you are good.

there must be some rule of the English language that makes the term "too much genealogy" incorrect grammar. It doesn't exist.

Genealogy isn't whiskey, or beer, or coke, or died coke or even chocolate. It is therefore not possible to overdo.
