Obituary Bro. Jacob Early (1903)

Obituary from The Gospel Messenger, 19 DEC 1903 -

Early, Bro. Jacob, died Oct. 28, 1903, near Lima, Ohio.  He was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, April 29, 1816.  In 1835 he was mararied to Mary Finlons.  To this union were born nine children, seven sons and two daughters.  His companion, two sons and two daughters preceded him.  He moved to Allen County, Ohio in 1839, and was one of its earliest pioneers.  He was a faithful member of the Brethren Church for many years.  Services at the Sugar Creek church by brethren Samuel Driver and Daniel Byerly.    I.W. The nine children mentioned but not named were: Noah, Isaac, Abraham, Jonas, Elizabeth, John, Samuel, Sarah and Jacob.    Jacob's wife, Mary dies in 1880 in Allen County, Ohio. 

Jacob was a first cousin six times removed.
