Joseph Ansley, born 30 MAY 1834 in South Georgia, was the son of Joseph Ansley (1775-1838) and Mary Adkins (1796-1838). He married 20 JUN 1871 Houston County, Georgia to Aurelia Tharpe (1846-1931). Joseph & Aurelia were the parents of at least five children: Joseph, Frank, Martha J., Henry T. and Albert T. Ansley. Both Joseph & Aurelia are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.
