Military Monday

Civil War Confederate pensions required a physicians affidavit when a soldier was wounded in the war and claimed that injury as cause for not being able to work to support himself and his family.

Warren Clay enlisted in 1861 in Thomas County, Georgia and was discharged 10 MAY 1865 in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.  His affidavit shows him to be "..fifty four years old, Chronic Bronchitis...".

Warren was the son of John Clay and his wife, Martha Griffin Clay.  He was born 01 JUN 1841 in Mitchell County, Georgia.  It is not known to the blogger when or where his death occurred or where he is buried.
