50th Wedding Anniversary
From an undated newspaper clipping I found the following:
Mr. Raymond Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Phillips of R. R. 6, Dayton, and Miss Pauline Kreitzer of Germantown, were united in marriage at Liberty, Ind., Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Hayes performing the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Phillips are making their home with the groom's parents for the present time.
Monday evening, the happy couple was delightfully surprised by a number of relatives and friends at an old-fashioned belling, after which cards were the diversion of the evening. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lucas, Miss Hilda Wagner, Miss Janet Good, Miss Verna Hahn, Lester Taylor, Robert Wagner, Allen Weidner, William Weidner, Francis Good, Orville Good, Edwin Surface, Lester Good, all from the vicinity of Miamisburg; Mrs. Frank Gaskill, Mill Florence Gaskill, Miss Goldie Maston, Edward Payne, Frank Gaskill, Jr., Charles Zenne, Raymond Payne, Edwin Fittz and Eugene Maston, of West Carrollton, Miss Margaret Obanion, Miss Maxine Obanion, of Centerville, Miss Goldie Cummings, Miss Idella Cummings, Herman Walker, William Cummings, Chester Cummings, of Dayton, Raymond McIntoch of Monroe, Lester Chenoweth, and Carl Urschel, of Springboro.
[Ray passed away in 1984 and Pauline in 1988. They were my maternal grandparents]
