Grafton. -- Mr. and Mrs. William Gest of Law Rd., Belden are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, with an open house for relatives and friends this afternoon and evening.
William Gest and the former Rose Appla were married in the same house they now live, on March 30, 1910 by the Rev. Fred. W. Schuermann.
Among the guests who will help them celebrate the anniversary will be Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gest, William Gest's brother, attendants for the wedding.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gest will celebrate their 50th anniversary this coming fall.
The Gests have two sons, William Jr., and Herman both of Belden. They have six grandchildren.
The Gests who are 84 and 81 years of age, are members of the Belden Methodist Church and the Belden Grange. Mrs. Gest is a member of the Belden Community Circle.
Mr. Gest was born in Cleveland and moved to the Grafton Township area with his family when he was six years old. Mrs. Gest was born in Belden and lived in the area her entire life.
Mr. Gest operated the Gest Dairy farm all his life. He has been in semi retirement for the last 15 years.
