Tombstone Tuesday - Bolling Family of VA

One of several Portraits I found of Robert Bolling (1646-1709)

Found this neat book describing the burial location of Robert Bolling (1646-1709). Robert Bolling married a lady by the name of Jane Rolfe. Jane was the grand daughter of John Rolfe & his wife, Pocahontas. Although Jane is not interred here, many of Jane & Robert Bolling's descendants are in this cemetery.
Being the curious one that I am, we went in search of this masoleum. Mark's ancestral line interconnects with this line although not directly. We wanted to see if the cemetery & masoleum were still as pictured in the book I had found. The images you see below were taken in June 2006.
These images are from Blanford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. Remember that clicking on the image will open a larger version in a new window. Using your browsers back button will return you to Genealogy Frame Of Mind.
All of the burials shown below are in the masoleum of Robert Bolling. If the images appear to be off center or off kilter, please keep in mind the photo's were taken thru the bars on the front of the masoleum. There were many other Bolling graves in the surrounding area's as well.
If you are a Bolling descendant, I'd love to hear from you.

My boyfriend is related to the Bollings. Robert Bolling (B abt 1764 in Virginia) had a daughter Susana who married John Arrington.

I'd love to share info!

I am a Bolling/Bowling descendant, and a genealogy nut as well. I have researched the Bollings almost 20 generations all the way back to France, The Bolling name has changed about four times, with many different spellings. It start as De Boulogne (france), to De Bolling (invasion of normady took English version), to Bolling, then Bowling, Bowlin, Bolen, Boleyn,. etc.... I have research that I am in the process of verifying King Louis IV of France. I belong to the Bolling Family Association, DNA Group 3, first American descendent Benjamin Bolling. If you need any research help, pictures, let me know.

I am a distant granddaughter of Susanah Bolling Williams who married William Savage of the original Savage line in the US; does anyone know if she is related to the Rolfes?

Another direct descendant here through my great-great-great-great grandmother Nancy Ferguson, who was the great-great granddaughter of Jane Rolfe (through her only son Major John Fairfax Bolling to Martha Bolling to Judith Eldridge to Nancy Ferguson).

No doubt there are millions of us! LOL

I am seeking anyone with information they would be willing to share that connects Colonel Robert Bolling to the first century "De Bolougne" family of Northern France. Specifically Eustace De Bolougne I and his wife Martha De Leuven.

Ill admit I'm not too familiar with how blog sites work, but I did enable the comments to this thread to be notified to my e-mail address. And of course likewise I would be happy to share what information I have in return.

Kind regards,
Michael Theodore Welch
