John T. Nix was my GGG grandfather. He was born ca 1834 in Georgia and died 14 OCT 1862 in Frederick County, Maryland. He was married 10 AUG 1856 in Randolph County, Georgia to Amanda Nix. They were the parents of at least two children, Miles F. Nix and Mary Nix. John Nix was no the only member of his family to do in the civil war. He lost three brothers, Clayton, Newton and Monroe Nix, all also died in 1862 of wounds received while fighting in the civil war.
