Among interesting marriages this week was that of Miss Jane Hollinshead, of Washington, Ga., and Dr. Campbell Wallace Ansley, of Thomasville, which took place on Friday at noon at the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Ansley. The time of the marriage had been arranged for February, but as Miss Hollinshead was in Thomasville on a visit to her friend, Miss Margaret Brandon, and Lieutenant Ansley was spending the holidays with his parents, they decided that with the uncertainties of war times it would be best not to wait for that date.
The marriage was a quiet event, with only a few relatives and friends present. The bride entered with her brother, Mr. Allen Hollinshead, of Washington, Ga., who gave her in marriage and was met by the bridegroom with hs best man, Mr. Frank Ansley Jr., of Chicago. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert S. Sanders, of the Presbyterian Church. The decorations were military in their nature and the couple stood for the ceremony under an arch of crossed United States flags.
The bride wore a handsome tailored suit of silvertoned orchid cloth and her corsage was of orchids and valley lillies. A luncheon was served after the marriage and following it the couple left for Savannah, Lieut. Ansley being stationed at Fort Screven with the Coast Artillery.
The bride is a lovely young girl, who has visited Thomasville several times and made numbers of friends. The bridegroom is one of Thomasville's best known and most popular young men and has taken a high stand in his work in the army.
