Together they were the parents of 8 known children, Elbert O. Ansley (1827-1865), Julia Ann Ansley (1829-1850), James R. Ansley (1834-1912), Mary Frances Ansley (1835-1909), William A. Ansley (1837-1906), Thomas W. Ansley (1839-1882), Charles W. Ansley (1842- ?), and Susan R. Ansley (1846- ?).

Asa was the son of Abel Ansley & his wife, Lydia Harrison Morris Ansley.

He is buried in Benevolance Methodist Church Cemetery, Americus, Sumter County, Georgia
