Its been a while since I blogged. I must admit I was worried I wouldn't get back to blogging. But here I am. Its been a busy month or so, with a kitchen remodel and our daughter announcing the arrival of a new branch to our tree in Jan 2015.
Now that all the "dust" (literally) has settled (and been removed) its time to get back on track with the genealogy.
Last weekend, we made a research trip to Medina County, Ohio. I'm completing my work on Mark's family that were in that area. They arrived as early as 1832 and remained there even today. This is Mark's grandmother, Mabel Reusch's family.
Over the next few weeks I'll be blogging featuring all the "stuff" I found there as I get it all entered in my database.
Happy Researching!

Monday Musings
Happy Monday! I can't say I did any genealogy this past weekend at all. We did make lots of happy memories at the waterpark though. I'm sure my grandkids will remember for quite a while grandma getting dumped on by the giant bucket of water or the sight of grandma sliding down the water slide. Probably not something they'll see again for a while, I think I'm still water logged. But it was great fun.
I got really excited when I got the weekend mail yesterday. One of my Kreitzer cousins sent a cute card and inside was a nice note & five PHOTO'S!!! Yes, I said FIVE PHOTO'S! Only one of them had I ever seen before! I've been searching for photo's of my great grandparents, George & Flora Boomershine Kreitzer. I have one of each but the aren't the best. Well now I have another and these are really great photo's, especially the one of George. THANK YOU MARILYN! You made my day!
This week I'm hoping to continue working on the marriage project, quite a few of my Ohio surnames have all but maybe 3 or 4 marriage dates now, so I'll be working to figure out what surnames to work on next. I have alot of marriages pre-1700 that I need to locate more info on as well.
Ongoing is the data entry for all the obits and deeds etc that have been pulled so far on the research trips for this spring. Lots to get done on that front. I'll be working on my laptop in the family room at a temporary desk while my son is home with his boys. Hard to work with a bed in the middle of your office. But family comes first so I'll manage.
Headed off to the Library in Lansing this Thursday with my good friend Diane. I always enjoy those trips with her. We chat and solve all the worlds problems. Always a good thing to do. Maybe we should invite the members of Congress along and fill them in on our solutions! LOL!
So for now, the grandsons are back with mom, son & husband are at work. Only thing left for me to do is some genealogy - and of course the never ending laundry. Military Monday will return next week!
Happy Researching!

Friday Already & Birthday Wishes
Can't believe it's Friday already! Today most of our group is off researching on their own. Mark & I are going to be pat the Reibold Building, we found so much yesterday, hoping to do the same today.
Jane & Peter are off for another day at Garst, Twila is working down in Miami County, I am not sure about the rest, except I suspect Michael will show up here again.
It's been such a great week, with lots of really fruitful research, lots of laughter and bonds of friendships that I personally hope will continue on for many years to come.
We finished off yesterday with dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse. What a great evening we had. We talked genealogy between bites of all sorts of pasta & garlic bread. Steve Koons joined us yesterday, it was so good to see him and share dinner with him. We wish him continued success and he mends from his health issues.
After dinner we adjourned to our hotel to a small guest lounge where the laughter and genealogy chat continued for many hours. Soon all the computers were out and everyone was comparing notes and surnames, with more laughter.
I want to thank the gang, Twila, Michael, Jane, Peter, Bev, Steve and of course Mr. Brown eyes for helping make this week of researching fabulous!
We are hoping to plan an event very similar to this for next year. Maybe you can join us?
On a family note - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome sweet cousin Christie Jean! Love you demon child! Hope John makes your day fabulous!!!
